Eugene City On This Day In Oregon

In a letter written on this day in 1864 from Eugene City, one of the first settlers in this community, Elijah L. Bristow writes about his children:

"Lilias can knit, sew and wash dishes like a lady, Jimy drives up the cows, cuts wood and drives the team. Willie does odd jobs mixed with a great deal of mischief and Pane bosses the whole of them..."
