Prineville Railroad On This Day In Oregon

On this day in 1916, the Prineville City Council asked its citizens to vote a bond issue to build a railroad. The $100,000 issue was approved on March 18th.

During the following two years additional money was appropriated for the city to build its own rail system, The Prineville Railroad. The line extended 19 miles down the Crooked River.
