"Smoking Mountains" -- the Unionist says: "Persons at Dalles on Monday morning say a wreath of smoke ascending from the summit of Mt. Jefferson...the phenomenon was observed by fifty persons, some of who called to their aide a large spy glass. "The signal mentions the fact that smoke was recently observed issuing from one of the Three Sisters. Californians had better sleep with their clothes on, for it is very probable that they will get another shake up."
