"New Road -- The citizens of Linn County just completed a very excellent road around the falls (Willamette Falls) as the track on the road is just above high water mark and ware houses will soon be erected, the portage of this place can hereafter be affected without the difficulties heretofore attending it. And by opening the road down the Tualitin River, the hill back of Linn City can be entirely avoided by the traveller from Yam Hill and Tualitin Plains."
