"Joaquin Miller, Poet of the Sierras, and once an Oregon resident, visited Lewis and Clark Exposition today and was greeted by a throng of admirers, more than 2,000 strong, which assembled in and around the building. "Mr. Miller gave a short address in which he praised the state's natural resources and its people. If he retains any bitterness resulting from the treatment he received as a resident of this state, he concealed the fact, and was geniality itself. A banquet in his honor will be held this evening."
