Buffalo Bill On This Day In Oregon

On this day in 1902, a solitary horseman by the name of Colonel "Buffalo Bill" Cody rode into Portland. With Cody's arrival so began the highly anticipated spectacle of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show for the first time in Oregon.

The western hero with his "aggregation of virile manhood" thrilled Portland residents with a morning pre-show parade through downtown streets. Then Buffalo Bill's troupe gave four record-breaking performances, all of which included Bill in the saddle.
