blind pigs On This Day In Oregon

On this day in 1912 another crackdown against illegal liquor sales in Oregon occurred when Governor West this morning served formal notice to all dealers and common carriers to the effect that they would be held directly responsible for sales to "blind pigs", disorderly houses and other places which have become nuisances.

Common carriers were also notified that they will be held civilly and criminally responsible for transporting liquor of any kind to dry counties, in violation of the law.
