On this day in 1873 the newly formed Oregon Pioneer Association held its first annual reunion in Butteville, a date commemorating the 16th anniversary of the adoption of the Oregon State Constitution. The keynote address was delivered by former Territorial Governor George Law Curry with speeches made by other notables present. The pioneer ladies were most hospitable in their preparation of a bountiful repast.
